Great news!

A few days ago, when I logged into my deviantart account, I was flooded with messages, all of them containing the same word: 'congratulations'. You must be wondering why.

Well, I found a photomanipulating contest called Kings & Queens Contest by The-Imaginarium. There were three categories, and the participants could choose from a list of kings and queens. When I was a child, I was obsessed with Egyptian culture and fortunately there's still something left of it. This is why I went for the Queen of Egypt. The theme got me inspired, and suddenly the picture of what I would create came to my mind. This is when the work began.

I looked at lots of references on Egyptian scenery, architecture, fashion, makeup, jewelry, etc. with the help of Google and my old books. I went through hundreds of stock photos, then I spent long hours and days photomanipulating. There were times when I got disappointed or desperate, but in the end, all that suffering paid off. I was quite satisfied with the result.

However, I did not think I would stand a chance. I know I may be too pessimistic, but all the entries were very amazing, creative and detailed. (I bet the judges had a hard time deciding). Please don't forget to check out all the other winners' and participants' works as well (just click on the link of the contest above). Anyway, I think it was great fun and experience, and I'm looking forward to the next one!

Last but not least, I want to say a huge 'thank you' to the creators of this contest, the judges, and all the amazing people offering the prizes - features, points, llamas, etc. You have no idea how happy, thankful and honored I feel.

PS. I've still got lots of messages to read and answer. I try to reply to everyone, but if I forget about anybody, please forgive me. It's not because I don't appreciate your comments and compliments.

Hey! I'm back
Actually, I have nothing important to say I just thought it was time to write a new journal entry. I'm sorry for being so passive, but I just didn't have motivation to make new manipulations or to finish the old ones - yes, there are lots of them. I always get inspired but when I try to create something, it doesn't work out the way I imagine (usually because of the lack of appropriate stocks). Though I should be studying right now, I feel kinda motivated so I think I'll just start a new photomanip

After about 14 months I think it's time to write my first journal entry
Firstly, I want to say a huge 'Thanks' for every faves and deviantwatches! I can't describe how much I'm glad even if I'm not very popular. So just keep faving!
Unfortunately I've been very busy lately and I haven't got time and patience to create something. I've started some photomanipulations which I haven't finished yet. I hope they'll be shared one day...
However, my last work - Burning In The Skies - is a quick work. Once I was travelling and listening to this song and I got a brilliant idea! I still can see what I imagined then (the result is different, though). Listening to your favourite music is always a good inspiration!
My new obsession is photography I know I'm not a professional photographer and my camera isn't the best but I love doing it! Please check my photos, too
